Sevenoaks League
1934-2015
During their first season Platt were sitting in 4th position at the mid-way point with 18 points from 11 games. Top were Chelsfield with 24 points from 14 games, second were Albions with 22 points from 13 games and 3rd were the much fancied Weald with 20 points from 12 games.
Platt also had success in the early rounds of the Smiths Junior Cup competition, which subsequently added to their league fixture program. As the season progressed Platt began to find the form that would not only see them win promotion, but also clinch the Division 2 title over second placed Albions. In fact in their remaining 13 league games they had 12 straight wins and drew their final game 1- 1 against Weald.

However, Albions were to gain their revenge by defeating the Platt side 2-1 after a replay in the final of the Smiths Junior Cup which was played at St. John's in Sevenoaks. Platt had secured their place in the Sevenoaks League and almost walked away with the 'Double'.
In the 1938-39 season Platt Reserves beat Ightham Reserves 31-1 in a Division 3 league fixture, as far as I know the highest scoring league game on record!
On November 3 1939, Platt entertained an Army XI at King George's playing fields. A fair sized crowd witnessed a physical game which ended 3-3. Goal scorers for Platt were Rudd (2) and Gibson.
The intervention of World War II was to obviously have a detrimental effect on the football club as a whole.
The club still managed to play throughout the war in some capacity however, by playing in a mini-league, with teams from Borough Green, Wrotham, Wrotham Heath, Crouch, Ightham, Stone Street, Seal and Kemsing all participating. A similar mini-league was also setup in Sevenoaks itself, for local teams to be able to play without being caught too far from home in the event of an air raid.
It was only after the war that Platt began to put together a side that was to become established in Division 1 of the Sevenoaks and District League. It was also not until the season of 1950-51 that they were pushing for honours in the top flight, by picking up the runners-up position. The following season, they went one better by becoming champions of Division 1 for the first time.

Although Platt entered the Kent County League in 1988, they also had teams that remained in the Sevenoaks League until 2003 and following a nine year absence, returned for the start of the 2012 season.
