Platt win Fisher trophy
Goalkeeper Brown is unable to save battling Shoreham
Platt 3-1 Shoreham
Platt beat Shoreham 3-1 at Seal on Wednesday evening to carry off the Fisher Trophy - but were given a tough fight by their Sevenoaks Division Two opponents.
Platt eased into a 3-0 lead midway through the second period but Shoreham kept battling on and eventually netted a deserved consolation.
Shoreham's goalkeeper Brown enjoyed an excellent match. His began with a splendid penalty save from Benn after just five minutes and he pulled off numerous goal-saving stops.
It was 35 minutes before Platt went ahead, Benn picking up a loose ball and dribbling around the goalkeeper to score.
The first-half was an even affair, with both sides having good chances, but the start of the second-half saw Platt taking more control and netting twice.
Whiffen notched the first with a low shot and Benn scored the second with a header.
Bristow claimed a late goal for Shoreham but by that time Platt had already sealed the result.
Referee Gillam handled the match in competent style.
